Scheme eligibility: a confident wrong answer can cost a family its benefit.

AI assistants now answer citizens' questions about government schemes. Eligibility turns on income, land, category, location and family details, varies between central and state versions, and changes often. A fluent wrong answer can send an eligible family away — or an ineligible one to apply.

What we plan to cover

AreaExample judgment
EligibilityGiven this household — income, land, category, location — does it qualify?
Central and state variantsWhich version of the scheme applies in this state, and what changes?
ExclusionsDoes an exclusion criterion rule this applicant out?
DocumentsWhich documents must this applicant provide?
BenefitWhat is the applicant entitled to, and how is it paid?

In the language people actually use

Citizens ask in their own language and their own words. Testing whether an AI understands them means cases written natively in Indian languages — not English cases translated afterwards — and certified by bilingual reviewers.

Sources answers would rest on

Official scheme guidelines and notifications published by central ministries and state governments, each with a "valid as of" date. How answers are tied to evidence.

Who it's for

  • AI companies and system integrators building citizen-service assistants For government AI vendors
  • Fintechs and service providers that help citizens access schemes
  • India's AI labs building models for Indian languages For India's AI labs

Boundaries

Synthetic citizen profiles only — never real beneficiary data. We test AI against published scheme rules; we do not determine any person's entitlement. What we do and don't test.

Professionals

Scheme and welfare-delivery specialists and bilingual reviewers, through partner organisations (recruited as the domain opens).

Scheme-eligibility AI testing — FAQ

Can you test scheme-eligibility AI today?+

Not yet. Scheme eligibility is on our roadmap and will open only with partner organisations. Discuss a mission to help shape it.

Why only with partners?+

It needs scheme and welfare-delivery specialists and reviewers fluent in the languages citizens actually use — a different professional pool from our tax and compliance network.

Would real beneficiary data be used?+

Never. All citizen profiles would be synthetic, and we would never decide anyone's actual entitlement.
