Finance AI: correct is not the same as plausible.

Finance teams are putting AI into invoice processing, payroll, close, compliance and reporting. In finance, an answer that looks reasonable but applies the wrong rule is not a small error. It is repeated on every transaction until someone notices.

What finance AI gets wrong

  • It applies a general rule and misses the exception a practitioner would spot.
  • It relies on a rule that has since changed — the labour codes changed the definition of wages, for example.
  • It follows the right accounting logic but the wrong organisational policy.
  • It takes an action — post, approve, release — that should have gone to a human.

Each of these looks correct to a non-specialist. That is why the expected answer has to come from a professional. Why AI gets professional work wrong.

Two sources of ground truth

Where law or a published standard governs — GST, payroll, company law, audit standards — the answer is anchored in that source and carries its authority and a "valid as of" date. When the rule changes, affected answers are re-certified. How we keep answers current.

Where your organisation's rules govern — approval limits, close procedures, treasury policy — expected outcomes are set against your documented policy and configuration, plus professional practice where the documents are silent.

Finance AI — FAQ

Which finance areas can you evaluate today?+

GST judgment, including in accounts-payable agents, is live. Payroll under the labour codes and company law are available on request with a calibrated team. TDS and income tax come next. The rest of this page is on the roadmap.

Can you evaluate a finance agent that follows our own accounting policy?+

On request, case by case. Expected outcomes would be set against your documented policy and configuration plus professional practice, and we would scope a mission only where we can staff it with professionals who have demonstrated the capability. Tell us what the agent does on the missions page.

Will you audit our accounts or our AI?+

No. We evaluate AI against professional ground truth on synthetic cases. We do not audit, give opinions or provide assurance on any company or AI system. What we do and don't test.

Who sets the answers?+

Chartered Accountants, Company Secretaries and payroll specialists who have passed capability qualification in the specific area, with independent review and adjudication. The quality chain.
